Cheryl is enjoying writing after retiring from a forty-year teaching career in her home state of Maine. She has participated in the anthology COMPASSIONATE JOURNEY that she penned with four other women. It was a collection of essays concerning mother/daughter relationships. Cheryl then wrote about her parents’ struggles with her mother’s mental illness in her book GRACIE & ALBERT. This book was presented to the local chapter of NAMI. Her new book FROM BEAVER CREEK TO HANOI is about Minnie Lee Gartley who became an activist to help end the military action in Vietnam and bring home the POWs, including her son Mark. It was launched October 2022 which was the 50th anniversary of the POW’s return from North Vietnam.
